malcra
just had a friend on the phone, who is in the process of putting his 1976 Montesa 247 Ulf Karlsson replica back together. There is some wear on the barrel, so looking to bore out to first overbore, 0.20mm, but is having problems getting a piston ? any ideas ? AFAIK slighty unique piston, with a rectangular hole in the rear skirt . Thanks

dgshannon
Went through the same thing with my 1974 247, a few months back. After searching high and low, including Southwest Montesa, all I could find was original size, and 4th oversize. Fortunately, my barrel cleaned up well enough that I could get away with original. When I spoke with Jared, at Southwest Montesa, he was just starting to explore the modification of some Bultaco pistons, that he hoped would work in the 247. Good luck. darlo
Hi, I remember having a Cota 247C, I think it was a 1979. The piston cratered while riding in the Scott and when I got it fixed, DT Mackenzies of Darlington said it had a Bultaco piston in it. Cheers, Darlo
