stuessenhigh
Hi all... Our next competition here in Hong Kong, will be next weekend. We are thinking of making it a team trial (2 or 3 riders in each team). BUT we've never done this before in HK. If anyone has any advice...we would really like to hear it. THANKS in advance for any comments!!

boofont
There's a team trial every year here in Scotland. I'm not an expert on how its run, may be Big John can shed more light? As far as I can recall there is four riders pair team, with a maximum of one expert and one non expert. The top three riders score count with the rider in last place score being dropped. Theses scores are added and the team with the lowest score wins. As for the running of the trial, we just rode each section as we would any other trial. Hope this helps. I hope you pull it off, its a great format for a trial and all that ride will enjoy it. Its also an opertunity for less experienced riders to pick up some tips from his/her team members. I seem to recall Andy doing one of his photo features from the Scottish team trial held near perth?
idmcc_sec
Inverness & District are hosting this year's Scottish Team Trial on 3rd of October. there is four riders pair team, with a maximum of one expert and one non expert. Four riders per team, the teams can consist Expert, Non Expert or Novice combination. No team shall consist of four Experts. Where three Experts are in a team the highest scoring Experts' score will not count towards the team score. D
stuessenhigh
Thanks all!!!!..keep the ideas coming. I think the organiser will decide the teams..so that each team has a spread of ability. I think it should be good for the poorer riders..to get some help from their team members!...Thanks for all your advice...any more ideas are still welcome. Hopefully you can see the results/news here..if ANdy will post it for me. More soon!!
rabie
we have internal combine trials, internal centre and the inter centre depends on what you've got but sidecars ?, youth? pre65, etc who do you invite - the trials one has mcui over, amca, etc, etc as for running ....... we generally do it on club or centre basis. often to fill up an event we have "A" teams and "B" teams if its a big club, etc scoring can be done by a variety of handicaps (as outlined above) to ensure its fair eg there must be one pre65 on each team, one youth, one sidecar, etc - and penalties for non compliance we tend to have one novice, one inter and one expert on a normal team trial at last year's internal centre team trail they had one novice, one inter and one expert - but riding one route...... up to you and good luck !!! rabie
