bigbore
Hello Gentleman, I am having issues getting my radiator cap on my 2000 GG TXT 280 to seal. I had the rad pressure checked and was informed rad cap was no good. I have tried three more caps and they won't seal. I can't see any obvious imperfections. The fluid just leaks past the first seal and drips out my over flow hose. It is a somewhat constant drip and it doesn't matter if the bike is warm or hot. Just rebuilt motor and know for sure that it is not a blown headgasket. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Bigbore
scorpa3
If the system is over-presurising for some reason (head gasket, crushed hose etc), it should just flow out of the overflow pipe, I think your problem is likley to be something really simple: Is the overflow pipe blocked by any chance? Are you sure the caps you are using are the right pressure caps? Are the two lugs both locating properly and turning right to the locked position? Can you see any wear or dents either to the seat around the neck or under the edge where the cap locates?
bigbore
Thanks Scorpa, I'll take a deeper look. I haven't seen anything that stands out yet but I'll do some close inspection shortly. Bigbore.
