scoobie
I've noticed that with the side stand up the spring rubs slightly on the side wall of the tyre. All the spacers are in place and the rear wheel is torqued correctly and runs true. Anyone else had this problem on an 04 290? What did you do apart from the obvious of removing the stand? Thanks,
perce
You're stand's bent, just bend it back so it doesn't touch the tyre. Get hold of the end the stand & pull it the direction you think's right. DON'T take it off, knowing your luck the spring will take your teeth out as you try to put it all back together. betamike
Hello, my friends sherco did the same and the sidestand was a bit bent like Perce said. We managed to get round this by using a thick zip tye to hold the spring to the arm of the sidestand. This did the trick Cheers Mike

dale
If your stand is bent, then by all means straighten it out - but check that the sidestand bracket hasnt moved - there are 2 allen studs holding it on to the swingarm.
