sir dabs alot
I'm considering a new helmet. I currently have a Hebo Jeroni replica. It is comfortable but very hot even in winter weather. I'm considering a Shiro vented helmet or maybe an NZI. The problem with the NZI is that it doesn't fit my head that well and would require some carving on a brand new helmet. Other choices are the On Off carbon hemet or the Shoei helmet. Neither are vented but may be better than what I have. Anyone with any experience with these helmaets? Thanks!!
bilco
I use NZI myself nice and light. I should'nt worry about if your choice has vent's or not the vent's are useless to be honest so i would'nt let that get in the way of what you decide. honda pants
Shoei!! no comparison always has been the best helmet and always will be
paul w
shoei, dont be put off by the apparent lack of vents, they stay cool in summer and are great quality. check ebay for some deals. i got mine new for
baldilocks
I've got the On & Off Carbon, its vented and its incredibly light. Only downside is that its a bigger helmet than the Airoh I had previously. The liner does come out to wash . I'd buy either helmet again
monty-python
Shoei, they are the best, and they are vented. The vents actually work too. I am buying another shortly, my last one managed 2 trials. I put it over the end of the handlebars, while checking a section, you can guess the rest! Quite a few unpleasant words that day Paul,? 65 quid, where was that from, mine was 145 and i thought that was cheap. Buy one, and dont hang it on yer bars
boofont
Shoei, best by far. Had a Hebo, it was dreadful, for me anyway.
barrybaines
I`ve got an Airoh and LOVE it but I have just stumbled across this on ebay TLD stuff is generally top notch kit too?
spinner
I called TLD about that very helmet, they told me that it is not intended for motorcycle use. I asked him if they were going to get the helmet DOT certified ? they said that they had no intention of doing that, it was only for extreme sport use
mad4it
As previously said the shoei has to be the best as reguards quality,i have one and it is over ten years old and is still in excellent condition they are as said vented! i also have a airoh this is a nice lid but i will have to see if it lasts like the shoei they say you only get what you pay for. spinner
But most of them are FIM certified and that complies with NATC rules. NZI, the Shoei trials, The Arai trials,NAU,Premier,Airoh,Hebo,Matrix ect. not one of these are DOT certified but all are FIM certified. dgshannon
Just received one of the new Spanish made Shiro helmets, from the Tryals Shop. Link: http://www.tryalsshop.com/ Much cooler than my NZI or YES helmets. The buckle is a little strange to get used to, at first, but the comfort and quality are great, and you can't beat the $169 price.
sirhc
I asked him if they were going to get the helmet DOT certified ? they said that they had no intention of doing that, it was only for extreme sport useI talked to a dealer the other day about a trials helmet he said technically several he sold actually arent dot certified anyone know which are and which arent? DOT is a U.S. certification and since our trials helmets are imported by our trials importers they don't get certified. I wear a Shoei and my son Ty wears a Hebo and after careful examination before I bought them I would think they would get a DOT rating if tested. I see no way the NZI vented helmet would pass and I wouldn't wear one do to lack of safety. I have checked out the Troy Lee helmets in person and they seem pretty nice, more protective than a NZI in my opinion and I would wear one. I think Troy Lee has to say that do to legal reasons.
