Tc User Guide

Andy,

(I appreciate this might not be the best place to post this)

Just a thought, as TC features grow, is there a user guide or a place where we can post the stupid questions, "How do I ....."

How to post pictures/links to pictures/Videos

How to use the search engine

Not missing any posts ("view new posts", "mark all posts as read" etc.)

Setup a Blog, track a blog etc.

Etc.

I keep trying to do a search, say of all posts in the last week, but I'm incompetant and can't get the results I want.

did we not all say setting up a wiki for this would be a good idea?

A user guide to the forums/blogs etc is really something I would need to write. I intended doing blogs anyway once I've fully explored it myself.

Forgive me if I am asking a silly question, (but being new to things such as Bloggs and chat rooms etc.), is the idea of a blogg to produce one long long page of writing and update it periodically by adding to the bottom,.......

or is it to write a new entry every time, thus making multiple entries all on different pages?

Blimey - this is confusing. I'm logged in as testuser on Firefox and Andy in IE. I'm in the process of writing a tutorial for the Blogging system (using testuser as my example so I can include extensive screenshots). The concept is lots of different articles - much like if you made a diary entry in a real diary. You would naturally write that entry on a seperate page relevant to that date. Blogs are no different.

If you've looked at the blogs so far they only have one entry each. Another entry would appear as a different item.

It will all, hopefully, become apparent once I've finished the tutorial. I know this is yet another first for Trials Central and fully expect people to think WTF? I'm keen to see some uptake on it though so am writing the tutorial to explain things in as clear terms as possible

I've written and submitted a second entry to my blog, but it appears in preference to page one.

For anyone going to the blog for the first time, it makes more sense to see page one and not page two.

Is it possible to set it to show page one first?

Sorry if the answer is obvious.

Afraid not. Blogs always show most recent first. Once you have a few entries on a blog you wouldn't want folk to have to scroll to find the latest. Sort of a Catch 22.

Thanks again Andy, that makes sense I suppose.

I'll try to stop asking daft questions now.

It'll become obvious when more people start to post their blogs.

I was thinking about writing an online review of our experience in Spain trail riding and the new facility seem to be perfect for the job.... once I get used to the mechanics of the process.

Cheers
