fraser
Hi everyone, Having a slight problem with my bike, rather hoping someone here can help me I came off my bike earlier, and dropped it as i fell off, with the bike almost ending upside down, and since then winding the throttle open more than about half way while riding along causes the engine to die out as if it was not getting any fuel to it - the bike seems fine at lower revs but sounds a little raspy. The person i was riding with suggested that it may well be something to do with the float at the bottom of the carb, so i duly stripped it down, checked everything was moving freely, gave it a clean and put it back together, with no change whatsoever to the running of the bike, so now im lost as to what to do and hoping that someone on here might know what the problem is. Thanks in advance, Fraser Munro My bike is a 2001 Gas Gas TXT 280 (not a pro)
flatslide
sounds like something got into the main jet, when you had the carby apart did you remove the main jet and clean it out? Sometimes you can get the tinniest piece of crap in there that can be hard to even see but it causes problems.
fraser
I took it apart again, this time paying special attention to cleaning the main jet, and now it works just great again! Thanks For Your Help Fraser
