skid
04 200 I put the kick stand back on my 200. It seems awfully damn close to the rear brake rotor when folded up. Do these things stay put or is that maybe the reason the previous owner took it off?? If that isn't bad enough the stand is so tight to the swing arm I can't get a foot on the damn thing to bring it down. Both times I had to use my hand. I've seen other stands that would have a tab of some sort to get your foot on to bring the stand down. Was there a clamp or something like that on my bikes stand that may be missing?? It's one snug fitting stand thats for sure. Previous owner pitched the beta kill switch. I picked up a yammie switch. anything i need to know regarding install, or is it pretty straight forward. Any hints on where to find where the switch plugs in/connects?? wiring is not a strong point of mine.
barrybaines
As far as your stand is concerneed I had the very same problem with my '04 250 (too close too disk) so I too removed it and if I am completely honest with you 95% of the time it was unusable anyway. Ever tried standing on a nail in the mud? However my '07 has the disk rotor gaurd in place which not only has a rubber stop for the stand too rest against but also keeps it well away from the rotor. As far as the tab too make it easier too "kick" down there isn't one as standard but I am sure if you really want too continue using it, it would be an easy enough job for anyone armed with a welder
dale
As for the factory fitted kill switch, most poeple change them to a yammy style one - original one has reliablity issues

skid
Any idea on where to connect the kill switch, I need to fit one to mine too on my 98 Yeah!! what he said! keeping in mind that I'm electronically impaired .... I did some poking around to try and see how to hook up the switch. The previous owner pulled off the switch. There is no head light or tail light wiring. There is one black wire that comes out of the bottom of what I would call a multi pin connector. Said black wire has the male end of flat blade connector that was put on there by the previous owner. Definitely not a factory connector. It was wrapped in electrical tape. My yammie switch has a black wire and a black/white wire. Do i hook up the yammie black wire w/the beta black wire and then run the yammie black/white to a ground?? say one of the screw holes on the triple clamps that looks like it is for mounting the headlight?? kevin j
looking for same info, to add a two wire switch to the Beta. I also prefer where I can reach with thumb, although I know the advanced riders don't like this. don't ground the switch on the triple tree, the electtrical still has to go through the bearings to the main frame. Tiny arcing and eventual bearing wear. More prevalent on industrial equipment. Run the wire back and ground to the frame. [kcj
bob
Lampkins suggested to me to run the earth to the top bolt on the coil, it's nicely out of the way there, and well earthed. I've dont this with my last two kill switches with no problems. Bob

skid
Thanks guys. Kill button works like a charm For future reference, should someone pull this up on a search. Hook the black wire coming out of the bottom of the multi pin connector to the black wire from the switch and run the black/white from the switch to the upper bolt on the coil. Done.
