Ssdt & Pre65

There are usually a few press bikes around, as john said these are signed-on and covered by our insurance. they will all have an official "SSDT 2007 PRESS" plate on their bikes but they should NOT be riding against the trial . There will also be some traveling officials around this year to ensure that everything runs smoothly. but again they will have official plates.

To anyone reading this thread 'cold' please dont get the wrong idea - we welcome spectators and only ask that you act responsibly and consider the long term future of the event - please do your bit to show that trials riders are considerate and a credit to biking, and we can all enjoy many more SSDTs.

Above all have a great time and enjoy yourself.

see you next week ;)

Hello,

I write you from Spain. I am planning to go to Kinlochleven to attend the 2008 friday 2nd May route. I will stay in a hotel at Inverness and in the way to Edinburgh, I will stop to see the pipeline and some near sections. I think due I will go with Wife and 8 years old Son, I will move in a small area. Does the Pipeline section ridden the Friday?, if so, at what time? I think with 318 riders in the race, there will be participants all day.

Thank you . Good forum.

Hi Erikkson,

If you are in Kinlochleven on Friday May 2nd then I think you will see the riders at Pipeline. Normally this section is used both days of the Pre-65 trial.

However there are 180 riders competing not 318!

It depends greatly on which way the riders are going, they start from near to the centre of the town and usually odd numbers go left and even numbers go right creating two loops of riders leaving at minute intervals, two riders at each minute.

I am sure that you will be able to see all riders go through Pipeline if you stay there most of the day.

Pipeline is about 1.2 miles from the start area and is easy to find.

Regards

Big John

One other thing Eriksson and anybody else thinking of coming. Please come along and enjoy the atmosphere. There are other sections within easy walking distance of the car park. Please come along buy a programe and enjoy this Classic event but please please leave your bike at home. This event is under serious threat from non competitive riders riding along and around the route. If that is your intention then do not come you are not welcome and may possibly be the last straw and may even be the person who stops the event ever being run again. It's that important.

Last year myself and Slapshot had to explain the facts of life to two idiots trying to wobble their trailies up to Pipeline.

I doubt that any contributors to Trials Central do not know how serious the situation is but perhaps we can all pass the word to people who do not visit this forum that they are most welcome at Kinlocjleven but their bikes are NOT.

Sorry to get on my soapbox but it's my first time competing in Scotland and i dont want it to be my last because some self centered brain dead moron causes the cloure of this great event.

Said every year but theres always someone, sadly sometimes they are "friends" of riders in the event, who tries to get the event stopped.

First of all, thank you for your answers.

Yes, I will leave my bike at home. It is a enduro KTM. Before I posted my question, I have been read the forum an others for sometime and I know the problem with the people going in his own bike bike but not participate in the trials. My Wife and I like Scotland and I wish to live the atmosphere, like you wrote. I will buy a programme, or two, shirts and stickers...I like the myths and the pipeline is the SECTION I have seen in B/W pictures, heard and read since I was young.

I don't want to see ALL the riders, I would like to see some of them, the parc ferme of the regular SSDT and spend the day between Fort William, Kinlochleven and going to sleep to Edinburgh.

Good '08 SSDT and Pre65

See you in Kinlochleven May 2nd.

Rgds.

Hello,

We were there!

We, my Wife and 9 years old Son, arrived the friday at Fort William to see anything but some trucks at the car park. We bougth a program. I didn't find any shop to buy a t-shirt or two. (please don't say me now "if you had went to...") Don't mind, we follow to Kinlochleven and buy another programme, go to the Pipeline and feel that emotion for being in the place I saw Soler, Vesterinen and so on in black and white pages in spanish magazine Motociclismo. It was amazing to see how the riders control their bikes, that kind of bikes...Took some pictures and video.

It was over whelm the kindness of EVERYBODY in Scotland. Every biker and walker you see, cheers you, smiles you and say hello, we pleased corresponded. Think that you didn't see that person in your live, neither they to you. It is amazing and we were like we were in our own home, thank you Scotts. We go on the path, altough there were mud, too much black mud, and some showers from the Pipeline and from the sky.

We took a lunch of salmon in a Hotel near a bridge I don't remember the name, but I never eat a salmonn like that, it was perfect.

In the way to Glencoe I saw two sections more, but there wasn't place to park and no permission of the "boss", because we had to arrive Edinburgh at evening. The sections were in the right, one into smalll course river and at the left, one rocky path upwards , (going up)

Few hours, much emotions, good sensations.

Thank you very much to all for do the pre 65 trial. I hope will be there again.
