Guest chad
Hey guys, who has the 06 Beta 270 that could tell me how they like it, any issues with it? You know what I'm looking for. Thanks, I'm coming from riding a 84 xr 350 honda thumper, upgraded to a 03 Ktm 250 Exc enduro biike, and then a 05 YZ 250 2 stroke which i've had since Nov 06, which is now selling and want it gone fast so I can get riding trials. The bike is in perfect shape, never raced just trail ridden. Anyone know who is looking for that bike?????
barrybaines
As a beginer I would probably suggest steering clear of the 270 and opt for a 200 or 250 I have riden both and was amazed by the power and capability of the 200 and wish I had one when I first started! As for your asking reviews of a specific bike you are best off taking some time out too go through the bike specific forums as this one would only turn into the my bikes best dispute!! Seriously hope you manage to get rid of the bike soon so you can get trials riding.... Believe me you wont look back
the addict
Chad, if you like being stretched out like a flag for 8 hours on a sunday go for the 270 they can be a right handfull to start with and you might find you wont learn as quick as you would if as Barry said you started with a 200 or 250. Betas are reliable in general, good build quality and the parts seem quite cheap when you bust some. For most stuff and events I ride the 270 is way to powerfull to get the most out of it, but saying that it will come into its own some times on big hills,no run up climbs and the mud. Guest chad
Exactly, I'm not planning on doing events, just using it for riding the tight single track and play riding at big gravel pits with some huge hills. I was on a scorpa 250 on Wed for the first time and I loved it. I was riding with Don from Cascade motorsports in Mission B.C. He's the owner. We where gone for 3 hours and I wish it stayed light longer. I really think the 270 would be perfect. I'm use to the 55 hp in my yz 250 2 stroke. 4th gear wheelies at 45mph easy. I'm use to the pulling the arms feel. I mainly do really tight stuff with that bike.
the addict
Chad, 270 it is then, be perfect for that sort of riding it will pull 4th on hill climbs from nothing and has loads of torque, you might find top speed abit slow after the yz but easy to gear it up if you wanted too. Make sure youve got a renthal chain fitted as the cheap chains have a habit of snapping easily, more expensive but well worth it for the riding you want to do. Keep her running on good high octane unleaded and best 2 stroke oil you can get, might be worth richening it up a little if your blasting around for hours on end. half a tire right
Chad; I've never ridin the scorpa yet but IMO go with the Beta 250 for starters, you can alway's upgrade later. The 250 Has NO problems pulling 4th gear wheelies,,I have NO problems on my Techno, with a little blip and clutch slip pulling her up in 5th (too fast for me though)plus plenty of poop for the hills. From what little I know, you can put a 270 kit on a 250.
fulmine
The 270 is only the big bore of 250, all the others is the same. There is a kit 270. If you ride the 270 whith a little throttle open it could be good. Edited May 7, 2007 by fulmine
