slack
Hello every body, i'me just wondering what 2 stroke oil to run in my scorpa sy & what mix. I'me using motoul fully synthetic at the minute at between 60ml & 75ml to 5 liters & it smokes like a train. I have just cleaned out the middle & re-packed the back box, not losing any engine oil so ruled that theary out. What oils do you lot use & which one is the best for my 2001 sy.CHEERS. P.S. some guy at the trial said the motoul fully synthetic might not be suited to my engine.
copemech
62.5cc would be 80:1 ratio which should be about right. Don't know about that type of oil, can you get the Maxima? I have used the Yamalube 2-R without problem at ratios of between 80 and (100:1 if you are not running it hard). But expect some smoking if you run it hard after putting around all day, as they all seem to build up in the exhaust!

I use castrol 747 at 100:1 in my SY as a castor based oil would burn of quicker and it produces less smoke. Always use super plus as well. The only thing is you have to make sure it is well mixed, and drain the carb after every ride. And drain all existing oil out before using it as it wont mix with synthetic. fantic156
I've been told by several importers and dealers not to use fully synthetic oil in a trials bike as they do not rev high or long enough to burn it off properly, resulting in black oily deposits in the exhaust system often collecting and dripping from low points. Use semi-synthetic 2-stroke oil. We use about 75ml to 5 litres of super unleaded/optimax for the Beta's and the same tends to get used in the fantic. to check the ratios try this site. click here. copemech
The problem with non synthetic or some simi synthetic oils is exactly as stated. They do not remain oily, but turn to a hard carbon which builds up ! And it is non movable! On your piston, pipe and muff! Oil that stays "oily", you can blow out or flush! It will move! Check your header pipe to see! M2C!
