Ive got these fitted to my majesty and as there still got good tread on them ive left them on till they wear out!

this got me thinking who uses them? everyone nowadays seems to use X11's or IRC'S i know the carcass's are harder than the tyres just mentioned! but what sort of conditions was MT43's designed for ie rocks/ gooey mud?????? they certainly dont seem to grip much at all! might stick them on me wr200!!!! ;)

Hi Scotty,

The MT43's fitted new to my B40 are so bad that even a 4 year old worn-out XII would be a dramatic improvement. They simply don't grip, too hard a compound. I've also heard that they seem to grip well in snow but can't confirm that, it doesn't snow here.

Think the mt 73 was good in mud darn sarf

i have them fitted front and rear to my crf230f, could not afford x11, and they wear out too quick on roads, it can cope with most things, and dont suffer too much wheel wobble when run in lower presures.

but if you can afford x11 then buy them for closed trials.

my local enduro / motoX shop sells lots of them for enduro's that require a rear trials tyre. I also use them on the front wheel, and they seem to work out ok.

I had been using the (slightly cheaper) Michelin Trials Comp's (not X11) which have been around the

I know in the late 80's my brother used to keep one especially for the snow (not much good for anything else), used to make a huge difference against an X1. Treads would stay clear. I did try once running a X1 at 7 psi in the snow and was a lot better having found letting tyre down made it worse as snow would compact in the treads. Never tried it on a modern X11.
