steam
i wish to soften my 2004 280 pro and have been told to use a heavier flywheel or a 1mm head spacer. any body tell me which would be the most noticeable and useful to a novice rider. munch
fly weight , would be my choice with a slow throttle
coxy
most noticable would probably be the flywheel weight but if you find the bike hard to start then the head spacer may be a good option, both would make it really really soft though if you want it softening alot
steviec
I had the same decision to make although mine is an 05 280, my advise to you is don't bother with either, spend a tenner on a slow action throttle, this will make a big difference. peterb
Most definately go with a Hebo flywheel kit and a slow action (black throttle tube) throttle - you will be able to glide effortlessly over those slippy as rocks in the creeks and have delicate throttle control to hoist you over 6 ft moss covered steps. I have used the flywheel kit on both of my 300's, makes a big difference in the river sections, takes the edge off the low end response and lets the motor roll a little easier. Bye, PeterB. steam
One of our guys has the head spacer and did have the slow action throttle on it... he has now fitted the fast action but left the spacer in. It worked for him, and is a very much cheaper method of trying it out.
