montesaman
Hello all I'm in the process of restoring a TY pinky, so after a quick holiday up at Birks last week to sort out the engine it is ready for some cosmetic treatment. Does anyone know if you can get the original blue fork paint (maybe a Yamaha part ref? and dealer?). Also I haven't tried to put all the stickers etc on the new mudguard and existing seat (which is in good nik) but I wondered if it was worth considering a coat of lacquer eg the spray one they sell at Halfords - maybe this could help make it look more shiny and either stop the stickers coming off or stop them fading? I would appreciate anyone's thoughts please? Cheers
eddie_lejeune
when i had the pinky we put the thick clear plastic over the seat graphics and on the back mudguard . lacquer would chip and be ****ty looking.
montesaman
Thanks for that, does any one have any ideas for fork paint? I'm thinking of trying to get the best match with a car spray paint from Halfords, but I don't have the original to match to as the fork legs have been painted over white...
