copemech
Has L+M said something here? A passionate British crowd is what makes a great sporting occasion, without you guys it would simply be just another event, rather than a day in a million. The British riders thrive and depend on your support, whilst the foreign challengers recognise you as the most informed and appreciative audience anywhere in the World. No excuse is good enough to miss saying farewell to Britain Edited July 17, 2007 by Slapshot 3 Fixed Quotes
toofasttim
Not much of a secret AFAIK Copemech. Dougie said he was going to ride the Scottish in '08. So he will have to have quit the W/C by then.
baldilocks
Erm James Dabill winner of ssdt 07 and currently 7th in WTC ? So why does dougie have to retire from wtc to compete in the ssdt ? perhaps its the last English round though as there is no English round in 2008 . toofasttim
Dougie's a full works rider and the factory (Honda and others) does not like their riders taking chances at non-championship events. Sounds crappy but that's all there is to it.

Sounds crappy but that's all there is to it. Things always change. If you were Honda, and had a rider as good as Dougie, but apparently past his prime for WTC, wouldn't an event such as the SSDT be a prime place for him to represent your brand? Your WTC chances are not really at risk, and you have your brand making good in another arena of the sport. Sounds pretty smart, to me.
