atomant
Alexz Wigg is the future of British Trials and is our best hope of another British World Champion There is some logic in this statement simply because in his age group, he dominated his class and is still beating the same riders convincingly in the Junior however, he isn't the complete article and lets see how he develops. After all, he is still only a nipper! To discount Dib's chances is pretty unfair to say the least. He continues to get better and score better so he certainly hasn't peaked. Time will tell Finally, seeing any British rider in the mix having a go is excellent considering how hard it is to get there in the first place. I will be shouting them all on unless he has some 'marking assistance' again..... You have evidence of this? if not, then I suggest you offer an apology for that disingenuous remark. bikespace
unless he has some 'marking assistance' again..... You have evidence of this? if not, then I suggest you offer an apology for that disingenuous remark. I'd say as an observer last time I was rooting for Dougie, but if I helped anyone maybe it was Raga, only by being absolutely fair when some of the crowd are shouting out for a '5'. To be honest I'd love Raga to lose marks where Dougie cleans, but I'm not going to affect that. When they come through I ignore who it is (and I honestly do). I'd like to think everybody's like that (even with the foul mouthed scumbag Pole who hoped my family died from a painful disease - Taddy). Don't think I'm observing this year so obviously I'll have a catapult with Raga's name on it, and a shotgun with Taddy's Up the Brits

neonsurge
i think we need to stop thinking about dougie ...yes he was the best rider the planet has seen and yes i would love it as much as anyone for him to get on the podium so no question ill have a flag and a horn but... who is going to be our next world champion. in my opinion alexz wigg is our only hope! You may be right but don't forget James Dabill? I'm 100% confident that Britain WILL have a new world trials champion on Sunday. Go Team Atom! cota kid
Having had the pleasure of watching Doug ride at 3 WTC's this year firmly believe he can still top the podium. He will need to be on the top of his game and probably needs to have the rub of the green, but it is very much possible. There will be a huge number of fans out there routing for Doug, booing him may not be such a good idea.
beatabeta
You have evidence of this? if not, then I suggest you offer an apology for that disingenuous remark. Not for a second suggesting that an observer would/has given Doug a better score than he had dropped, but I have seen observers giving 'dubious' 5's to other riders when it could make a difference to Doug or another rider winning. Have seen that in UK, Andorra and Spain - all down to each individuals idea of a '5' I guess

Regarding Alexz, an astute assesment considering I haven't seen you at any of the WTC's this year! He could have stayed down in Youth, probably a more sensible decision as he is restricted to the 125cc machine because of his age, but what would that prove and to get experience and move on he choose to upgrade. Not too sure what you mean by age group references, he is not just still beating the same riders, Gomez cervantes Ross and others have all stayed youth, and the riders in junior some have been in that class for 3 years (Browny). Gontard Vacaretti Laia et al are all established juniors. To finish second in the juniors is an outstanding achievement, well done to michael Brown who has dominated and will be crowned champion at Hawkstone. is Alexz the finished article, well even up close and being a big fan, at 17 I wouldn't suggest such a thing, but he has produced some special performances this year! Will he go on to do bigger and better things, sure he will, just like all the crop of Young riders we have Dibs downwards, how far and when remain to be seen. Support all the brits is a good starting point I feel. Edited July 26, 2007 by Nigel Dabster
cota kid
A brave decision for Alexz to ride a 125 in the Junior WTC but one that will be of great benefit and experience to him. The important thing is his career is moving in the right direction, as is a lot of other British riders, but who really knows where it will end up. Riders develop at different stages in their careers, look at Bou 5th to 1st in a season on a new bike.
