montaco
Hi, My young lads 2003 Sherco 290 has broken the gearchange spring. I have the replacement in front of me now, does it go on just as it comes out of the packet or do the legs need squeezed together to fit each side of the boss and give more pressure on the boss?. If it's the latter, how do you do it, I just stuck one leg through my thumb trying!!.
lineaway
I`m trying to remember, yes it needs to be spread to both sides and use something besides your fingers. it can be a little akward, but as it comes out of the package thier would be no pressure. copemech
Same here, never broke one but may take something like external snapring pliars to assist spreading the spring. If no joy, I will call Ryan to find out, let me know or just go on the RYP site and e-mail them! www.rypusa.com There is a forum there! He and Mike help out on tech questions too! Good lot! Even for the Brits! Seems MRS don't answer !
montaco
Thanks for that, I think my problem was in trying to put the wrong leg of the spring at the bottom, it went on much easier the other way up.
