elctb
I'm replacing the left fork seal on my 2002 315r due to a slight leak. I noticed before I loosened the fork cap, that the spring pre-load adjuster turned but didn't click. I took the cap apart, cleaned it very well with brake cleaner and I still can't get it to click. It worked fine last time I adjusted the pre-load. Any ideas on what could be wrong ? Also, I can't see how the adjuster affects the spring pre-load, unless there's an oil valve inside the cap. How is the adjuster supposed to work ?
iconic
Are you sure this isn't the air bleed screw for getting rid of unwanted trapped air in the fork you are looking at? The fork rebound/compression adjustment is only on the right hand side fork...or this '03 onwards?

I think you're right. The little screw must be the air bleed screw. This screw sits in the center of an allen hole which when turned goes in or out withing the fork cap, thus changing the spring pre-load. It all makes sense now.
