nigel dabster
Above shows Vestys bike as owned by a pal of mine 83 I think. Front wheel was swapped for a honda one to get better braking I think rest is as vesty /reg modded it. I think Dave Renham has this bike currently on loan. trialscot
Nice bike, is that what a Comerfords 340 looks like at the back or is that a one off for Vesterinen?.
nigel dabster
One of vestys which was the late conversion they did John Reynolds had one like this.Vesty didn't win anything special on this bike which is why my pal got it I think. giles
That picture looks very similar to a bike owned by a friend of mine in the Sheffield area about 9 years ago except his was a 360 version - used a pursang piston as i remember - it was a six speed with a box section swinging arm and the airbox was as shown above, from what i remember of riding it, it gripped far better than a standard bike and the power delivery was very very soft. toofasttim
Now I see how they moved the s/arm pivot forward. They took a chunk out of the cases.
woody
Cases aren't modified, the swingarm pivot is just moved up right behind them
b40rt
Moving the s/a pivot forward must have widened the bike quite a bit ? That exhaust is not a thing of beauty !
toofasttim
Cases aren't modified, the swingarm pivot is just moved up right behind them I yield. It's a thought though. Machine a slot in the cases and move the s/arm pivot even futher forward (hopes Big John will bite..)
woody
There was a later bike done for John Reynolds which had the pivot moved even further up. On this bike it looked as though the pivot went through the rear of the cases but the swingarm was actually bolted to the side plates either side so there was no spindle. Don't think there is any room in the cases to allow a pivot to pass through, without reworking the internals that is.
pedronicman
The only one and original one - there was only one made -all others are copies. (The John Reynolds bike is much different and was built after this one) Vesty rode this in the 83 SSDT- Edited February 27, 2010 by pedronicman
nigel dabster
Cases aren't modified, the swingarm pivot is just moved up right behind them The cases are hollowed away where the swinging armcentre bracet is shortened. It takes a bit of the web but doesn't touch the gearbox internally.
