Ralph is pretty good at this as he gets lots of compression out of the shock ;) he could probably get 4 foot of lift with the compression part but gravitiy works strongly against him on the up stroke ;) . You have to be pretty sharp feeding the clutch out whilst the suspension unloads and pull on the bars,it helps if you imagine the bikes not under you as such and you concentrate on getting yourself to jump up and forward, bike has to follow at every stage though, thats the hard part.

a few guys in my club have been showing off on a BIG log.

most of them just wheelie onto it but two of them seam to leap onto it (without a ramp).

ive been trying this for weeks but cant do it.

anyone kno how?

thnaks max

Look closely at the ground, out in front of the log. They may very well be using a small irregularity as a "kicker", to help them get the bike off the ground. What "The Addict" describes works even better, with even the slightest bump, root, rock, etc. to help you out.

Looks and sounds a lot like the "splatter". It works better with a kicker but that is not at all necessary. Its all clutch, throttle, compression, unload, and timeing. To learn it you really need to be comfortable with the bike and how it works along with a bit brave. If you dont understand the process you wont get it without someone watching you and pointing out what went wrong.
