city trials
Those wacky Italians. While shipping their bikes over to the event, they stuffed the crates with wine and pasta! Now the bikes are detained in customs and the Italian champ won't ride unless he's got his official race bike. What, they couldn't get a good bottle of vino and some pasta over here? And gotta love our trials guy Shan Moore, who's doing the reporting for Cycle News this weekend. He hunts down the juiciest stories.

ptradam
I heard there were 60.000 there for Saturday qualifying. 80,000+ was a definate possibility for Sunday's race. It was packed!
jezza
Hmmm, looks like Rabies predictions cursed everyone he mentioned!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Apart from the USA Did you put money on Josh Coppins to win the World Championship half way through the season too? Joking aside, watched it on Eurosport 2 and RV has set a new bench mark, a sure successor to RC's throne. Would have liked to see him go head to head with Carioli but looks like his front wheels were built up by the Marx brothers using spaghetti instead of spokes, an easy mistake to make when rushing to build up the bikes from a crate full of pasta. Unfortunately Paul Malin and Roger Harvey in the commentry box.............poleeeeeez. Bring back Jack Burnicle or in fact anyone else but those two. Great riders in their day but Jack is the man for the microphone. Edited September 26, 2007 by jezza
