jack_h
hey all, I have this problem for a while and have tried everything to stop it (new float valve, float height etc) but it is running that rich that i can't go more than one lap without cokeing the plug up until the point the engine cuts out. Thanks Jack H

doogle
I would run it leaner than 70:1 At least 80:1 and depending on what oil you are using even up to 100:1 I know you are to young to ride it on the road, but you need to get it somewhere that you can give it a proper clear out. All the 4 laps of Nash Mills etc will be catching up with it.

By the way; 65mls of oil in 5 litres is actually 77:
dan williams
100:1 is only 50mls of oil in 5 litres of fuel.... is that really all you use? Yup. Been running 100:1 in my Betas since my '91 Zero. Dan
scorpa3
I use 80mls for every 5 litres and always have in my trials bikes, (that's 62:1.) If I should haeve been using just 50mls, it looks as if I've been wasting 60% of the oil I've been buying all this time
ausy300pro
sounds favourite to me, I suspect most of rest is near enough so bike would at least run for more than a lap, blocked exhaust will do exactly what bike is doing (have you ever had a gasser with aluminium midddle silencer collapsed) although you should feel a lack of performance if exhaust is blocked. and while your at it repack the silencer its one thing it breathing in but its also gotta exhail for what it costs it worth doin
amiller
What octane gas are you burning? Betas like good gas. After you repack the exhaust go do some high RPM hill climbs. Heat things up good. You should not be seeing a smoky exhaust. Aaron
pa.
Check the reeds. If they are not closing completely that will cause you to carbon up plugs.
