old trials fanatic
The Peak Classic Trials Club held their round of the Club championship at Bracken Rocks near Holloway Derbyshire. A good turnout on a varied mix of machinery enjoyed a good days sport over 4 laps of 10 sections mostly comprising tight turns over and around the large and slippery rocks that this venue is so well known for. As usual at Bracken concentration was the name of the day as virtually all the sections were cleanable but to achieve that you had to be inch perfect every lap. One of the hardest sections was number 4 a mix of loose and slippy rock which comprised to make it difficult to find the ideal line and stick to it. Section 5 also proved difficult with a very sharp turn over a rock step at the start causing quite a number of
westyfield
Hi OTF, .... another interesting trial well reported. Having twisted my hand a few days earlier I don't think I'm sorry to have missed this one though! For the course to take 24 off PC on the experts route and 35 off CS on the 50/50 route I suspect, as you hint, it may have proven a bit difficult for lesser mortals. What do you think? How did the scoring go further down the lists? Being a fairly usefully acomplished rider yourself and an experienced judge , how did you get on? old trials fanatic
Hi mate. Sorry not to get back earlier just got back from a break in France. Yes it was laid out a bit on the hard side to say the least but Martin has learnt from this and he did ask me to include his comment that the next rounds would be laid out a bit more how shall we put it "Old codger friendly" and i consider myself one of those by the way. It was Martins first Trial by the way and experience is that Bracken is a hard place to set out a trial as they tend to be either too hard or too easy and a good ablance is hard to find. Saying that if my feeble brain cells serve me right we are up at your place for the next one so should be a bit more user friendly. We do want to encourage more of the Clubman riders to dig the old bike out and that is definately in the new club secretarys mind so the future is looking good. How did i do? err last in class actually but at least i finished Hopefully see you in a few weeks and that youre feeling better.
