stevel
Lennie, I'm willing to put up a small prize for anyone who can demonstrate how to change a new tubeless tyre using ONLY levers and a footpump!!
scorpa3
All you need is tyres levers and a foot pump to swap the tyres. Its good exersize. Thanks for backing me up on this. I said someone would come on and 'say' you can do it with a foot pump! I've yet to see anyone actually do it though! lennie
Ive done it in the past, its not easy but can be done. Use a strap around the outside of the tyre to hold it tight to the rim and it might pop on. Also a bit of washing up liquid around the bead helps it pop on too. Being 100% honest though it really is just easier to just pop the tyre on with the tyre levers and go and blow it up at the petrol station using their machine. MX tyres are much more fun to fit at home, there proper hard compound compared to trials tyres but tubed so easier to pump up. EDIT - Thinking about it ive not got a tyre to pop onto a beta rim using a footpump but i have got them onto my talon wheel using foot pump only before. neil88green
wouldn't reccomend washing up liquid as I heard it will corrode the rim, something to do with the salt. Most forecourt air hoses won't have the grunt to reseat a tubeless tyre.
