gasgas280
TXT280 2000 Is the front disc supposed to float? or are my mountings worn? Probably a daft question TA ANDY
charliechitlins
I don't think that one floats. If it did, and was worn, it would float (shake) more. As far as I can tell, the biggest advantage of a floating disk is that it does away with the very slight drag that sometimes causes squeaking when the brake isn't applied. If you don't have it, you're not missing much.
gasgas280
Holes in disc are 16mm ish mounting bushes are 15mm giving 1/2mm float But are the holes in the disc supposed to be 16mm? Surely if they were worn they would be oval! ANDY
superflytx270
Yes mate i believe they are meant to be floating discs. I have them on my 98 tx270 and my cousin has them on his 2002 txt280. I cant see Gas Gas doing away with them after '98 then reintroducing them in 2002.
