quadrajet
I'm normally a BMX shooter, but I've always been fascinated by Trials. When I learned of the Championships in Duluth, I knew I had to drive up there and try my hand at shooting trials...and I loved it! These were all taken on Saturday and unfortunately I had to leave for home Saturday night, so I missed the GOOD weather on Sunday. Although I didn't have a press pass, I quickly learned that I sure could get close to the action. I used a Canon EOS 10-D and mostly my Sigma 28-70 f/2.8 EX DF zoom lens, although I think 2 of the shots were taken with a 16mm f/2.8 Zenitar fisheye. Here's the link to my gallery -Observed Trials World Championships - Duluth, MN. As you go through the thumbnails, you can click on the large image (on the right) to see an even LARGER image. I uploaded a photo to this post just for the heck of it, there are about 30 more images in my gallery. BTW, I don't have a trials bike, but like I said, I've always been fascinated with it. I have a BMX-Freestyle bicycle background, so I have SOME bike handling skills, but absolutely no motorcycle skills. I have friends...who have friends that ride trials, so hopefully I'll be able to give it a try sometime soon, hopefully I'll be able to catch on, it looks like so much fun! Thanks for looking, Quad
hrc2002
Photo What happened to the mont? (Forks on floor etc.)
boydw
Apparently doug hit a 20ft rock step about the mid point, and snapped the headset on his mont, apparently his bike spun, just on the take off it was a 30 ft run up, so i'm told, so unless you ride world round style trials i wouldn't worry about your mont headset snapping. quadrajet
You might like Bicycle trials if your into BMX and MotoTrials...it meets in the middle! I actually gave bicycle trials a try at one point in my life. While I really liked the challenge and skills needed, I didn't like having to pedal in order to boost up to things. Another thing that left a bad taste in my mouth was how extremely light the bikes were. Yes, it made them very manuverable and easy to bunnyhop, but to me they're almost too light. Maybe I'm just weird?
