The price increase has nothing whatsoever to do with the goverment, the government elected by you and me.

The fact that we have to pay so much in tax in every litre is decided by the govenment and that uaually rises a bit each budget.

lesson over.

make your mind up?

I thought it was the oil baron's that force the price's up,they control the flow the less they pump out for us the more it goes up,the more they pump out the less it cost's us ut the pump's,just like everything the more something goes up the more tax we pay.im more worried about the price of lamb at the moment.

It iratates me that we don't stick up for ourselves in this country we just put up with it because if we do play up they'll try and put us in clink!!!

What are they gonna do if the majority of the country decide to do as the French do and stick up for ourselves???

Imagine if we all didn't buy any fuel for 2 days, they'd take a bit of notice then! :(

They are just takin the p*** out of us!! "sorry andy"

Despite what should be better judgement I will try one last time.

The price of fuel at the pumps is going up because the price of crude, oil that is turned into petrol, is now at an all time high of nearly $100 a barrel. The government, our elected representatives have no control over this, just the same as in France the price of fuel there will be going up also.

LPG is subject to the same fluctuations as it is a petroleum product. Rightly there are incentives, tax and others, for lpg converted vehicles. And they do give out co2.

We elect the government so if you dont like what they do (taxing fuel too much) then become active in politics or vote against them, if the majority agree with you then the political partiy running the government will change. It is our government not the government.

There fore the majority thought last time they would prefer Labour, next time?

Despite my better judgement than your better judgement, don't say 'we' elect the government when there is absolutely no way I would ever vote labour. The fact is at the last election, only 61% eligible to vote went to the polls and the majority actually voted the Conservatives in! But due to the way the country is carved up in seats, labour won. Labour achieved a 66-seat majority despite securing only 35% of the vote. :(

Proportional representation would have seen a different government that what we have now.

So your statement on the 'majority' is a load of tosh in this instance.

On the subject of fuel, you need to bear in mind that as oil is traded in US$, and with the exchange rate being around the 2$=

Price have all gone a bit mad, Texaco across the road is 102.9 for unleaded 107.9 for diesal and 108.5 for Super.

I blame those trials riders for demading more fuel and draining the reserves :wall:

See that is an example of what I mean. When I last filled up with Diesel last week I paid 99.9p per litre. The price of crude was at $97 -

This week you are saying its at 107.9p/litre ( I haven't filled up yet locally so I cant compare the rise just yet) and the price of crude is $99. So, we are seeing an 8% price rise at the pumps for the fuel yet only a 2% rise in the price of crude.

We are getting shafted! ( did I say that already :( )
