boofont
Ah ha! Yes, I'm sure I know now! Seem to remember it was a top quality punch, no?
beaver
g4321 - I did get an apology on the day. Thanks for your help. Boofont - I must have an amazing punch as 1 person didn't seem to recover from it! The weathers not looking promising for Sunday. Apparently the river is really high - we might have to use the bridge to avoid drowning (bikes and people). Bigfoot - are you going to venture out of the North East this weekend. bigfoot
I'd love to but I'm running the 10K at Portsoy. Now that I know who I'm speaking to why the fun name?
g4321
Unfortunately I will also miss Alvie, its a pity that it clashes with the British Superbikes at Knockhill. I have arranged to go to the race instead with some friends. Hopefully the water level will not be too high! Some of the usual sections will be quite entertaining with an extra foot of water. beaver
Bigfoot I cant believe you would want to run 10K! Is your car broken? Are there no buses? Seems like too much effort to me. Is your running partner Boofont - I'm sure he's a closet athlete Got the name off Terry Wogan - how sad am I g4321 The sections wont be too bad if you have a diving mask, flippers and a snorkel! bigfoot
Who said anything about wanting to run 10K?
beaver
Ah ha Big John long time no hear. I take you and the boys are going to Alvie at the weekend. I want to know what makes you BIG John? You're not much taller than me so it must be something else. Must ask Jean I take it there is a pub or a woman at the end of this race then Bigfoot. Can't think of anything else that would make a man run when he doesn't really want to!
bigfoot
Peer pressure I'm afraid. My wife and some of my friend have been running for years and I kept on saying how easy it was. Now you've got to understand I'd not run more than 100Mts since my school days. While I was down in Angola earlier this year they entered me in the Great Caledonian 10K. I got home trained for a week and a half and went out and beat my wife but not my two male friends. I was a couple of minutes short so all I'm now doing is trying to catch up. As soon (and if) I manage I'll retire while on top. It plays havoc with my knees so if I don't catch up soon I'll stop anyway. I don't really enjoy it but it is good to get to the end and not be last. I turned 40 earlier this year and I'm maybe trying to pretend I'm still young. beaver
Is grandpa the attraction or is it the female who lives not far away? Have you not taught him that girls cost more money than bikes and they'll give him a damn site more hassle. Did you notice that Big Eck nearly got beaten by his grandson at Lumsden. bigfoot
Well maybe I can take up trials again. I got a PB on Sunday at the Portsoy 10K and managed my target of splitting my two mates and beating the wife. Now if only I could walk without the pronounced limp. I guess as the saying goes "no pain no gain"

I should have went but originally was going to knockhill for the BSB races - Very wet by the looks of things on TV. Gordon
boofont
Suprisingly dry mate. there was a little rain on the drive down but it stopped and pretty much held off all day. There was a few spots but nothing to worry about. Not too much water in the burns either. Really good trial, great sections too. Thanks to all. beaver
G4321 Weather horrendous on drive over but turned out to be a reasonable day. As Boofont said water level wasn't high considering the amount of rain. Seems like everyone enjoyed their day. Boofont Just seen the results. Well done you!
