hovis
has anyone every tried a moto-x tyre on a trials bike? as the nobbles on a trials tyre are so close together, when its muddy, they are just like a slick, where as moto-x tyres have bigger nobbles, and they are futher apart, so they tend not to get caked with mud as much......... they are also
boofont
If MX tyres were any good then they'd be used, and they're not!
stevel
More to the point, they are illegal for trials competition. There are strict regulations as to the tread pattern that can be used. If I am not mistaken this is shown in the ACU handbook
ham2
Trials tyres grip well on rock surfaces and they don't foul the swing arm..but I know what you mean about prices!
feetupfun
Knobby tyres are terrible on anything that has hard surfaces like rocks and logs.

nigel dabster
if you look at the vegas endurocross pictures you will see that even the enduro boys have trials tyres on.

penno350
What about those spikey jobs from Ice Speedway, they'd be really good over big logs!

benj
my first trials bike was a ty250 that i used for gathering sheep on the fells (on my dads farm in lancashire) where the quad couldnt get. i put a spikey front tyre on because the front wheel was always slipping away on hill sides. it was great for wet grass and mud but awful on anything else.
