big john
HelloIt was a plaseure to welcome the UK expedition in Madrid. I hope you had a good time enough to return next year. BJ, no scratches found on the bike, I will return you the deposit soon... Regards, Hi Carlos, As before, your bike was a pleasure to ride once more at Robregordo. I am sorry I did not do the bike justice, I admit to being way off form as far as the sections were concerned this year. It is a fantastic motorcycle, definately one to keep and ride! Next year you will of course come to ride Alvie Highland Classic Two-Day Trial as my guest! Maybe I will have a Bultaco prepared for you to ride from my now extensive Bultaco collection! bilc0
Aha, now I have figured out who "Bilco" is then!Big John Yes i think you've got me. Now if i knew i'd be escorted back to London by a nice nurse i would have told everyone my username in spain. My weekend was a disaster, starting with a punture on saturday coming upto the 4th section changed tube then broke my rear brake lever at section 9,had to ride the rest of the course using a fraction of metal left from the busted brake lever, thing's got a bit hairy down that big steep hill by the viaduct. I had to throw the towel in sunday because my old man came down with an illness over saturday night,he was in and out the bathroom all night leading me to only having 1 hour's sleep overnight, i knew i was'nt up to a long hard day of trialing so decided to make my way back home in the morning, lesson learnt never share a room with your old man..Thought i'd go for a walk at 3am,another disaster i got pulled up by the police in the hotel car park wanting to know what i was upto. Even though my weekend was cut short i realy enjoyed the whole experiance,i don't think a trial could be any more Glamorous for a rider of my poor standard,I totaly recommend experiancing robregordo to anyone with a twinshock. As mentioned before there's passion and friendship oozing out of everybody. Trust me it was a sad drive home for me coming away early. Edited May 30, 2008 by bilc0

greeves
It is known that things does not last for ever, and my rol in Sotobike club in charge of the foreign pilots has come to an end in this 2008 edition. Of course I will be doing some other things in the club and in the race, but for the next editions there will be a new public relations, speaking better English than mine. The first meeting after the race has brought new ideas that we will slowly develop. The first idea is to prepare the race for 23 & 24 May, good options for British pilots as Monday 25 will be a Bank Holliday in the UK. Also Foreign pilots will be allowed to arrange for their entry any time they want and also will be allowed to pay the entry in the race, not in advance. There will be a special email from the motoclub where to contact in English, this email will be published soon in our webb, different forums etc.

Without Javiers help and encouragement i would never have been able to take part in one of the best events in my Trials career. We all, those that have ridden in Robregordo, owe him our gratitude. Javier you are a star and will be a hard act to follow. Paul & Donna
nigel dabster
And another! Big John meets Manuel Soler, development rider for Bultaco. You are such a name dropper, wiggy used to call me Manuel as back then I had a moustache and Soler style glasses. Bernie was my favourite though............
