codirtrider
Hello all, So I've seen a few posts regarding removing the reed spacer, doing so certainly does make it easier to get the carb in and out, but what is the consensus on effects on performance? I remember seeing a post or two that claimed that it helped performance but I've also heard that having the spacer in place boosts torque? I am fitting some vforce reeds and wondering if I should go with or without spacer. Thanks in advance, Colorado dirt rider 2005 Rev-3 270 Edited January 11, 2008 by CODirtRider

north_yorkshire_lad
i would think that having the carb closer to the reed block would give you in essence more power, might jus sharpen up the pick up etc NYL
betapete
no, a spacer lengthens the inlet tract, therefore will load up the rear booster port ore efficiently, peakyer throttle response and more torque throughout the rev range
mtwallet
ive removed the reed spacer on my bike and to be honest there was no real noticable difference in performance,if something a little sharper off the bottom and thats comparing it to my brothers bike which is the same as mine but with the spacer on and his is an 04 and mine is an 06 so it could be the 06 is sharper than an 04 as standard
