pancho247
I have a 2008 gas gas pro. I have found 1st gear very high and the bike runs away fromo me, just got the standard sprockets on, i think 11 tooth on the engine and im not sure what i have on the wheel. Can anyone recommend what to use on engine and wheel? Thanks
polarity3232
I found the same problem w/my 300 pro. I switched to a 10 tooth fr. and left the rear stock (42 i think??) also i fitted a slow throttle tube (black tube ) and this seems to mellow it out for me , it still has a surplus of power, just slowed things down a bit !! good luck !! cj
peterb
Hi Pancho, The standard spkts for a 250/280/300 PRO are 11/42. Most lads here fit a 10T, the gearing is a little high as standard. Bye, PeterB.

Can anyone recommend what to use on engine and wheel? I tried the 10 tooth countershaft and it worked well but accelerated chain wear somewhat. I've since gone to the 125/200 44 tooth rear sprocket with the stock 11 tooth on the front and it works perfect for my style of riding i.e. I fall off a lot at lower speeds.... spenser
The 2008 rear sprocket has been changed from the 42 tooth of past years to a 41 tooth. Going back to a 42t or a 44t would be your best option. Spencer
