Suspension Settings?

suspension is a funny thing. In essesnce its personal preference and there is no hard or fast rule to how it should be set. Some people like it hard others soft. To be honest if your 13 stone its not a million miles off for you. Perhaps try winding the shock spring a turn and see what you think. Perhaps adjust the compression screw and see what you think to that. Mess about with it thats what i would do and go from there.

I dont think in the beta manual it gives suspension set up unlike montesa manual

Most new trials riders make the mistake of stiffing up the suspension like their Endro or mx bikes. I would for starters tighten it up so you can go off small steps and not hit bottom. People ask me all the time why can't I steer the rear wheel or hop the front end and the answer is your suspension is to hard.

I set my bike up recently as per the handbook, and it feels like a completely different bike. I am only very light at 9 stone, but the handbook seemed to give a good indication of where everything should be set.

I also noticed that much of the way the bike felt which appeared to be suspension settings was in fact as much to do with handlebar positioning, so perhaps that is one thing to check whilst you are tinkering.

Betas definitely ride well with little preload and medium damping, you'll appreciate the added grip in the mud.
