old trials fanatic
Peak Classic Trials Club held round 1 of their 2008 Club Championship at Burycliffe Quarry near Matlock Derbyshire on Sunday 17th Feb. A very cold start turned into a nice sunny day in the Peak National Park and 49 riders enjoyed an excellent days sport before retiring to the Miners Standard for the presentation of 2007 awards. As usual with this popular venue the sections consisted of rocks rocks and more rocks. Lovely ! Section 7 a twisting path over and around some big rocks was the decider in all classes but concentration was the key so as to keep loss of marks to a minimum as 1 dab could be disasterous. This was the first event for the new Club secretary Martin Booth and the riders smiling faces at the end bode well for the forthcoming season of Trials for this expanding popular Club and the next Trial at Cookes Quarry,Youlgrave on the 9th March is round 2 of the Clubs 2008 Championship.
