scraggydog64
Hi I went to put some new front brake pads in my 06 Rev 3. I always move the pistons back and forth to free them off before putting new pads in. Through my own own stupidity one of the pistons came out so I had to bleed the brake. I tried every method as shown in the Ryan Young manual, gravity, pressure, pumping fluid into the nipple using a syringe, drawing air out of the nipple using a syringe. I have bled a few brakes in my time though they often cause problems. The master cylinder didn't seem to pumping much fluid, as I had a spare seal kit I replaced both seals on the plunger. This didn't help. One of the pistons didn't go into the caliper didn't go in square and I thought I might have damaged a seal. So
jmck
It sounds like there is air in the system somewhere, despite your best efforts so far. We have rebuilt/replaced master cylinders and calipers so many times that I don't even attempt a brake job wothout a Mityvac bleeder within reach. As long as you have assembled the caliper and master cylinder correctly a Mityvac (or similar priduct) will remove the air from your system. I have had mixed results with syringes in the past and no longer use one.
neil king
Oh how I laughed when it didn't work again. That's not the way I have been doing it, but the next time I work on something and it doesn't work again I'm going to laugh my ass off. graeme17
I have had a problem bleeding the clutch before and it turned out that the lever span adjuster was in too far and wouldn't allow sufficient travel of the master cylinder piston. When the adjuster was backed off the system bled in minutes. Might be worth checking.
