postmanpat Posted March 4, 2008 Author Report Share Posted March 4, 2008 Munch,trust me,there is 2 distinct grain patterns,one is like a sand cast grain,the other more linear grain.also i forgot to say,there is no physical damage on either face of the yoke?you any ideas? scorpa3 Posted March 6, 2008 Report Share Posted March 6, 2008 The yoke is the cast/machined blocks of metal through which the front fork tubes are located. The top and bottom yoke are joined together through the frame headstock and pivot in bearings. If the pinch bolts are over tightened or the bike has a major impact they can fail. Apparently on a Scorpa this has happened causing the front forks to snap off completely.
