Flat Sump Plates?

Not sure if they are kicking around in the uk as an official part or not. Problem I can see with them is that the current bash plate must be shaped as it is because of the engine. Therefore, the engine must have a part of it thats closer to the ground than the rest. By using a flat bash plate are you not reducing the amount of ground clearance for the whole of the bike rather than a small section of the engine?

A friend of mine makes them. His company mostly fabricates stuff for rally cars , but he also rides trials.!!

Fly wheel weights for gas gas pros among other stuff, but he has made and can make flat sumpguards for your SY.

Give him a shout at ....

I don't know where you can get one in the UK but I have one and love it. I suggest that you continue the pursuit of one. My bike came with the plate installed but I have tried the old plate and can say that the flat plate makes it much easier to get over logs. The only thing bad about the flat plate is that I had to grind out the oil plug access hole to be able to get a socket wrench up and on to the plug. You can always try the Tryals Shop in the US if you can't find one in the UK. Their weblink is on the Scorpa website as they are the American Importer.

Good luck finding one.
