old trials fanatic
The Peak Classic Trials Club round 2 of their 2008 Club Championship at Cookes Quarry, Sidenooks Plantation, Youlgrave Derbyshire on 9th March 2008and were blessed with sunny and dry conditions. The lull before the storms that struck most of the country on Sunday night. Unusually for this venue there was abundant grip due to the dry conditions resulting in lower scores than is the norm in these woods. On the Expert route section 3 proved to be the decider where most lost the bulk of their marks. Only Mark Weston managing to stay clean here. On the Clubman route it was section 8 with none of the riders keeping a clean sheet. The next round, round 3, of the Club Championship will be held at Clifton Scrambles Course near Ashbourne on 20th April. The Club would like to thank all the observers who turned out without which there would be no Trials and extends a warm welcome to all riders and any who would like to observe at the next event.
