Does anybody know for sure if a 300 fuel tank and chain tensioner will fit a 300? Many thanks

300 parts should fit ok, and a mate fitted 240 tank to his 300 with only minor changes needed.

On the 240 the chain tensioner was mounted behind the plastic sumpgaurd and was easily damaged. I'm not sure if it was the 300 or the 301 that first had the tensioner mounted on the swinging arm ?

A 240 Fantic tank will fit a 300, although its a tight, push down the last inch fit. A 200 tank will fit a 240, although it's the same problem, push down the last inch. People think a 200 tank and 240 tank are the same. THEY ARE NOT, a 200 tank will not fit a 300, easiest way to tell the difference, the tag that fits under the seat is flat on a 240 and rounded on a 200. Classic Trial makes an aftermarket tank that uses a 300 size underneath with the early narrow 200 top, this fits all models 200 through 300. With regard to the chain tensioner, only the plastic runner is the same on 240-300, spring, arm and location are different between the 2 models.

The chain tensioner, fitted in the swinging arm, first appeared on late 1984 Michaud Replica 300's, white tank models.

Thanks everybody for the help and advice...I have seen one going cheap on ebay over here in the states. I plan to buy a tank from classic trial but thought about buyinh this 240 tank anyway. Can anybody help confirm if the 240 fork yokes take the same size diameter fork tubes as the 300 yokes?

Thanks again to all.

fork yokes all 35 mm for twinshocks: late 125 (early 32mm) 200, 240, 300. Also 301 , 303 and 307. Sections are 38mm Paioli or 40mm Marzocchis

Will these forks fit the Yamaha TY yokes, and do they work as well as the Yam mono forks most people have fitted?

TY Majesty yokes will have to be bored out to take 35mm Marzocchis. Yes they are as good as Yam mono forks.

Lee - didn't all 307 have upside down forks, it was the 305 that had 35mm conventional

Do the Fantic forks improve the steering in the same way as the TY mono ones? Know very little about this sort of thing, but it looks like the leading axle forks make the wheelbase a bit longer, while changing the head angle makes it shorter.
