What happened to RRP. (Greedy parts suppliers)

Whilst trawling the web to order some parts for the Majesty, cables a lever etc. Non genuine parts I noticed how the prices vary by pounds and not pence for simple stuff like cables etc. Is it me or has anyone else here noticed the same. I do when I can support the firms that advertise on TC but of the ones in question none advertise on here. At the end of the day J K Hirst got my business and they will get future business from me. I would like to name and shame the greedy one but I am sure I would get a slapped wrist from TC .;)

Restoring or simply maintaining older bikes like twinshocks is getting more expensive each year, some suppliers who have become well know names seem to have bumped the price of their Products by 100% in some cases,

I have changed suppliers several times for this reason, I now deal with just a couple of Guys who are reasonable but also reliable, i wont mention Names but they can be found on ebay.

Good luck.

Vaughan

Sorry. Hard times so charge more???????????????? Not good practice. A certain trader that is on the bay is taking the p*** big time, not the only one on there. End of the day it is a sport that is growing again slowly so why do they do it?? Rant over.

Many ebay traders do not have the premises and overheads the big boys have so therefore should be able to give a better deal but clearly do not. I will shop around every time, if some one is charging more to stay afloat that's not my problem. If petrol was

I'm an employer and I shop around too. I can get European labour cheaper then employing you so I will do that. Not my problem!

European labour may be cheaper, but they are here at the end of the day to work and happy to do the jobs that for some reason people in this country refuse to do. Our soft government over the years have let this happen. I am self employed pay my taxes etc and have to organise my own work. There are folk that will not work and have got away with it for years. So come on down Johnny Foreigner.

My parts supplier came up with the goods next day and with a considerable saving over "others". Ebay have no competition and probably never will so when the fees go up traders understandably want to claw it back. But some things are going full circle and folk like myself have seen through this and chosen to deal direct and not have to pay ebay indirectly. If you get my drift. Thankyou rant over :gay:

A decent parts supplier is not only about price, but from what I've read on here today some places are becoming a bit greedy. With most of the suppliers having websites with prices its easy enough to work out the best deal.

All I would like to add is that JK Hirst have been spot on for the 2 years I've been buying bits for my Ty's they know the bikes and do what they say they will do.BVM Moto are also top notch, they are confident in what they do and are very helpful.

Working in the motor trade I know how poor parts suppliers can be,and what the mark up on parts is too.Look in any Land Rover mag at the parts specialist ads and its always a laugh at the "favour" they are doing the punters over OEM prices.

God name me something that has'nt gone up recently,we're living in time's of "Do or Die"thing's are out of control and for some it's going to end in tear's.

maybe the supplier's that can keep the price down are the one's that have been trading longer and have the money behind them to take the hit on the cost of everything else that has gone up around them to run there business.
