dr nick
I just bought a 64meg memory card for my camera and...as usual ....put it in and used it without looking at the instructions(no comments please) I took loads of pics with it and they all went onto the card no problem. I`ve come to download them to my PC and it wont show them. So I took the card out and connected the camera back to PC and it read the internal memory fine. After reading the instructions I found that I was supposed to format the card first before using...but I could still do it now ...in case it was used by another camera...but the memory would be wiped I formatted it as instructed and it did wipe it .....so took more pics ....and after clicking "removeable memory" it still wont read that there is anything on it. Anyone help with this little problem....I`m sure its just me not doing something properly, like setting which memory to search for ,or something like that regards N
Guest Yamaha_dude
er im kinda a slf proclaimed computer nerd (dont tell anyone) duno if i can help though. have you tried browsing your computer for the removable memory card? if so what windows are you running? is it compatible with card? erm, control panel, prnters and other hardware look for memory card, it may not be in there anyway, if it is select it and it should say whether the selected device is working properly. can you change the format of the pics on your camera if so it may help. could try uploading on a friends computer see if that works. and if all else fails. Hit it and hope for the best, always works for me
dr nick
Cheers YD I`m running Windows XP and the internal memory runs perfectly with that. I`ve tried everything I can think of....the camera reads the card ok ...I can edit the pics on it if I wanted...I even checked that the pics were going to the card and not the internal memory. when I connect it to the PC with just internal memory ,the viewer programme opens it up straight away ....but when the card is in ....a box appears which says "auto play" and starts searching ...then stops ...box disappears ...then nothing. then when I disconnect the camera (using the remove device tool) the camera is locked up...I have to take the batteries out and reinstall them to unlock it looked in "my computer" and it has the removeable drive there ,so its reading that its got the camera connected ....but no images I did the device manager thing and it says "device is working properly" so I did "trouble shoot" but that said it couldnt help does it sound like a camera problem ....PC problem or card problem....Anyone got any ideas regards N

dr nick
Sounds like a good idea about the card reader. took the thing to "Boots" the chemist today to see if they could see the pics I took last night to verify that the card was ok......and it was ok. I`ve sent an Email to Samsung customer help dept ....so I`ll wait on the answer to that (if I get one) before I get a card reader thanks for the help regards N

There are specialist companies that will recover data in situations like this, but they charge a fortune. However, I'd recommend anyone gets a card reader anyway. It's sooooo much faster than downloading from a camera. I've got a

Andy
Can anyone put a pic on here of a card reader because i dont actually know what one is! Just go to www.jessops.co.uk and type "card reader" into the search box. There are different readers for different types of card/PCs/interfaces.
