zippy
I am not sure if this is a "taboo" subject for TC but here goes. (Andy will let me know if this violates da rules, if it does just delete it on sight ) I am looking for anyone in the US who has recently purchased a ty80 who would like to divulge the price they paid and the condition of the bike. Reason is I have a ty80 that I am considering selling. It was repainted red by previous owner. Needs crank bearings and seals Needs fork seals. Think it is 74 or 75. Everything else in good working order. I also have a 1971 JT1 mini Enduro. needs gas tank refurbished needs front sprocket. cables are a little "loose" Pour gas and oil mix in carb and it runs good. Thanks for any help. Edited March 28, 2008 by ZIPPY
swooshdave
My uncle just picked one up for $700. Needs nothing, well, maybe the levers could be changed out for something smaller. It's not perfect but it is pretty complete. You can look at the pictures here. So depending on the demand in your area the price may vary. Most of the ones I've seen are in that neighborhood. Yours does need some work so you may want to factor that into the price.
kevin j
check ebay as a guide. Last TY80 I sold was $500 and took a while. Nice shape. The advent of used modern kid trials bikes 50-80 cc took the TY80 prices in a dive. There was awebsite specializing in JT1 60 cc mini enduros. They seem higher than TY80 by quite a bit. Most of them seemed to be dads reliving their youth, or what the wanted when they were 8 years old but didn't get.... minienduro.com or something? zippy
Thanks for the replies guys. Yep I thought the modern kids bikes would push back sales of the TY80.
