rev3chris
I've had Gaerne for the last 5 years, but fancy a new pair of Alpinestars. Which are the better boot? Thanks, Chris.

sectiononecleaner
Gaerne 100% the alpinestars from the odd people you see in em arent that impressed. They look good but gaerne are by far better quality. Yes yo play more but doesnt that tell you something.
slapshot 3
Personally I prefer Alpinestars and went back afetr a pair of Gaernes, down to personal choice........
trialsuk
Gaerne have one of the slimest wall thicknesses and are built with a Drytech lining to make them waterproof. They also fit like slippers after trying all the others. Well worth the extra cost.
munch
they are nice when the drytech lining wont let the water out
ham2
Like previous posts have pointed out--comfort/fit is paramount but most of the Alpinestars I've seen have had the sole separate from the uppers.
dibdab
I've had my Astars for 2 years now and use them for about 2-3 hours a week on average, and they have held up brilliantly. Wearing a bit thin on the left ankle but still plenty of meat left. No problems with the soles or any other issues. I give them a bit of a 'birthday' every now and again, with a wash off and a good old treating with some good leather food. They are the most comfy 'shoe' I own as well. But I agree with an earlier poster, it's down to personal preferences.
