madcr500
My mate is after a cheap way into twinshock trials and is after a TY250. He is a bike mechanic so doesnt mind if he has to buy one in bits or do some engine work but the more complete the bike the better. He is skint (lost his job when the russian killed TVR) and needs to pay as little as possible,
swooshdave
My cousin just picked this up for $125, but mostly to put the forks on his TY175. Of course that doesn't help your mate much...

andy.t
madcr500, be warned most of what sells on Ebay cheap is probably going to cost loads of money to put right. If you buy a bike that requires an engine rebuild expect to pay out about a min of
jon v8
Let me know what its like when you get it and how much you think it will need spending to make it good and useable.Cheers. Dont worry mate - it wont be for sale,I only mentioned it as an example of what is on offer - cant believe no one else bid on it.For what it will cost it is not worth selling,I will have 3 250's now,one to ride and two non - running spares. My first thought is to build a practice bike out of the two so my main bike needs less maintenance.Or actually get around to cutting the frame around to make a Majesty replica with one of them. I know your not selling it i just wondered what sort of condition it is in for that money. Sounds like you have too many ty's now. I think you should give me one. Shall i send you my address to send it to?

I think its big John that says a gentleman can never have too many motorcyles, whatever - I have sold far too many bikes I wish I still had,esp the RTL and my G3 girder forked Matchless.I'll let you know what its like,I am set to pick it up on sat, cheers Jon. swooshdave
Thanks for that, yes, i am trying to urge him towards a ty250 mono for that reason. He is quite stubborn about it though. It the difference between paying cash and getting a loan. If you don't have the cash to buy a nice complete bike, you buy what you can with the cash you have. You then, over time, pay more to get the bike where you want it. The advantage is less cash up front, the disadvantage is it take more time and in the long run, more money. jon v8
Well, I'm very pleased - the bike was exactly as I hoped it would be. 3/4 hr of fiddling and it was running, been playing on it riding around with my son on his Ty80.Egine sounds good and pulls well, just the clutch to sort out and a good tidy up - my new practice bike ! Excellent, I'm glad to here it. There is always a risk with ebay but it sounds like you got a good one. Well done. Is the clutch dragging, slipping or stuck? andy.t
Yes I'm glad to hear it to,because the bike he bought looked like a pile of crap to me,guess he was lucky then?
jon v8
The clutch is stuck, but thats really not a problem - I have a spare bottom end complete so any parts I need wont cost anything. To be honest, for
andy m
Hey jon you want to stop yer Mrs shopping at Sainsburys, they are greedy b******s there. Anyway back on to the TY, the Majesty frame mod is a complicated affair, Woody has covered it before. I have a Yam framed Majesty I will be stripping in the future, shelved at present due to trying to sell house and move etc. But when it is stripped I will photograph the frame as others have spoken about the same conversions on here before. Bought a TLR 200 to be going on with as it can be a struggle without a twinshock around Gloucestershire clubs as some want over 50s on monos. I am only a mere kid at 44.
