mik60ish
Hi All I need to make a tee bar for a Yamaha TY 250 mono to strip the forks does anyone know the size of the hexagonal IE to suit a for instance (19mm) socket not sure of size just guessing? tt5th
I'm afraid I don't know the exact size but I made one that works fine on most forks by welding the tip of a wide (about 10mm) flat head screwdriver onto the end of some re-bar. Its a bit cowboy I know but just jam it in and it works fine. To date its done - FZR, GSX, TY, Scorpa Easy, and XV forks without a problem. kevin j
I don't have my notes files here, but I think it was 22 mm. That is just under 7/8 inches and I think I used 7/8 across flats nut. I welded it to end of a piece of tubing, then welded a socket to the top end to accept a 3/8d rive ratchet. Easy, and way better than the broomstick/wood/tape/screwdrivers methods. I don't know how to post a pic here but can send you one. kcj
