Ah a man from my home town maybe Consett ?

No i did not change the transmission but i will tomorrow night.

i was just a little worried about the heat from the casing, can hold my had on, but not for long.Just never noticed. Oil level is okay i replaced it with putoline 4t , .44lts as in the manual and checked the dip stick all okay.

Cheers

Aye, thats right location wise or near enough ... were u from ?

The reason I asked about changing both oils is that there is two very common mistakes that can be made 1) mix up of drain plugs (one is longer) and 2) putting the wrong amounts in when being a smart ass doing both at the same time and rushing the job to get to a trial......do this and say hello to a full engine rebuild when the bike stops an hour later .... with a bang .... fairly well positioned to comment on the latter as i've done it ......... what a **** and nearly 400 quid poorer ! :wall:
