johnh
I have got a Montesa 123 (1980), and am trying to source spares for the carb, which is marked up as Amal 720. A Montesa website lists the carb as Amal L720/403. The problem is when I search for this carb I can't find anything even on sites that have Amal carbs and spares. There are similar types but nothing that has the fuel entering the side through a 'T' banjo and with fuel float bowl secured by a clip. Any assistance would greatly received. motovintage
I also own a 123 white tank model, not sure of the year but I think it's 1984, most of the 720 parts should interchange regaurdless of the fuel inlet, I strongly recomend using a Mikuni or keihn roundslide carb, the difference in performance is amazing, I installed a kehin from a mid '70's cr125 when the pilot jet broke off in the amal, after getting it jetted I couldn't believe how much more power in made, I heard in the '80's that some one was riding one of these at the world rounds and the only modification was an added mikuni carb. johnh
Thanks MotoVintage, depending on replies that would probably have been my next question. Back to the 'Web' to do some research. Cheers John
