cambell
Thanks for the reply. I posted the question on behalf of a friend who doesn't have internet access. He says the bike he's bought is a Gas Gas and is 250cc. I'll check with him again on the model number and get back to you. Cheers. OK. We've checked and it we are talking about an XT 270. The year is 98/99 and it's got an alloy tank. Thanks for all the info. I'll ask him to bring the bike to mine so i can post some pictures. Watch this space! scorpa3
It's likely that he has a TXT 270 up to 1998 they had plastic tanks, then they switched to the pretty alloy ones. An alloy one could be enlarged by specialists in fuel tank welding really easily.
peterb
GG used to make a 4.5L tank for the 1999 bikes, the factory may still have some old stock and they may fit the 270 - best to check with a newer bike first. Bye, PeterB.

Speaking of specialists in tank welding...theres a guy in the US that makes these. http://www.gasgas.com/products/tank_seat.htm Most folks around here that want extended range carry a liter (or 2) of fuel in a fanny pack or mount one of these to the front of the bike: http://www.trialspartsusa.com/images/For-bike/Tank1L.lt.jpg

cambell
Does anyone know if one of these will fit a TX270 ? http://www.coast2coastoffroad.co.uk/index....roducts_id=2053 Failing that, how about one of these: http://www.coast2coastoffroad.co.uk/index....roducts_id=1385

As I remember, before the Pampera used a different frame, it had a larger tank that fit the Trials model (see: http://www.gasgasmuseum.com/1994-1997gasga...sgaspampera.htm ), although the tank/seat assembly junction might need to be modified to fit, just a thought. smalley250
I think rucksack with litre bottle and a bottle of budwieser might be best for the longhaul. Edited July 29, 2008 by smalley250
