zarkoff Posted July 16, 2008 Report Share Posted July 16, 2008 hello there honda fans . i was wondering if any body can give me some tips on the float height i have read somewhere that the float height can affect all the other carb settings and when setting a carb up the float height should be the starting point i am using the stand pipe method (a small transparent pipe in the bottom of the carb to see the true level) I dont know wether the level should be up to the gasket or just below. the bike was running like a dog at first and when i checked it it was well down the chamber ,now i have set it to just below the gasket it is better but i am getting a fair bit of petrol coming out of the overflow pipe! . if any body has had any experience any help would be gratefull thanks . Murray hi there thanks for that it says that i my service, book but is that measurement as the tang touches the needle or as it says in my book just closing as the needle has i little spring in it i still think the most accurate way is to measure it like this picture as you can see on this pic the level is near the gasket . is that right.. for a tl though ? ps this pic is not my carb.
