borus
my kick start lever is bending in the shaft, not the where your foot rests, i decided to put it in a vice and try bending it back with some heat, rode today and she is starting to bend again, do i have faulty one or is this common? btw, my bike doesn't kick back and starts 1 or 2 kicks, it is a caby with the "different head" don't know if it's high compression or not. cheers
copemech
I have seen one like this that appeared to have been improperly heat treated(soft). See if you can get some warranty assistance on it possibly?
borus
I have seen one like this that appeared to have been improperly heat treated(soft). See if you can get some warranty assistance on it possibly? my dealer is looking into it, if not, he'll stand behind it, it's just bending too easy so i agree with you, something got missed in the process. thanks for the reply cheers

micm
I bent one when the engine on my 290 backfired - a true banana shape! It didn't like being bent back, it snapped! Coincidentally it was also starting to tear at the shaft junction. Over 70 quid to replace.
